Most of people have no idea about putting in CPVC pipe. People who need to install new water lines would like to know if CPVC pipe is a good choice. It is very easy to set up plumbing at home; it calls for no special tools. You just have to glue it together. CPVC pipes and CPVC ball valves are excellent choice for water system. To do plumbing at home, you need to know some things to do it properly.

Like all other plastic pipe, CPVC pipes expand and contract and if it is fixed too tightly against the framing it can create a lot of squeaking noises and popping as time goes on. Don't utilize CPVC cement in excessive amount. In the pipe fitting, apply glue sparingly. If you use too much glue in the pipe fitting, the glue will get pushed into the joint when you shove the pipe into the fitting. Excessive glue in the joint can actually dissolve the pipe and can cause a failure. Sometimes, it is in the form of bubble that dries and blocks the pipe.

Shut off valves has an important place in the water piping system. You can buy shut off valve made entirely of CPVC. These are gate valves that prone to leak. These days, CPVC ball valves are widely used. These are really good products that work. Do not install CPVC pipes too close to heat sources, for example flue vents or can lights. Stay at least 12" away from these kinds of things.

At last, ensure that any pipe dope or other chemicals which come into contact any type of part of the water system are approved and listed as safe for CPVC. A number of chemicals can have a harmful effect on the plastic pipe that causes failures after months and even years later. It doesn't mean that CPVC is not a good choice. You just have to pay attention to what you apply with it.
